Pray For Us: An Update From Matt

The Everyday Youth Group is alive and well, and even making headlines!

A few weeks ago at the height of the silly viral Youtube phenomenon called “The Harlem Shake,” we recorded our own version. A local online news publication called DNAinfo.com included our video in a story here. Then that same story was picked up by AM New York, a commuter paper that goes out to about 350K subway riders. You can watch the video here: Everyday Youth Group Harlem Shake.

We’re not sure how God might use this, but there are so many kids in NYC who do not know Christ. Please pray that God would provide opportunities to get more and more kids involved with this youth group whether it is through the funny video we made, or any other way. Thank you for your prayers.Everyday Youth Group Harlem Shake

Pray For Us: An Update From Matt

EverydayYouthWebEveryday Youth Group is going well. We have a strong team of adults and great kids involved. It feels like God is laying a foundation for us to reach out and serve many young people in Washington Heights and Inwood. We had a Superbowl party last Sunday and there were 30 people crammed into our apartment!

Please pray:

* for the leadership of this group to have wisdom and unity.

* that our group to continue to grow and reach more teenagers.

* that our students to take steps closer to God, and make any decisions that the Spirit lays on their hearts.

Thank you!

New Series: Grow

Most of us want to grow. We hope life is going somewhere. Whether it’s a better job or finding that right person, we’d all like this next year to be better than the last. While life is sometimes full of challenges, hopefully we’re at least facing new problems. And spiritually, who wouldn’t want to experience more peace? Or joy? Who wouldn’t want prayer to be more effective?

In Christ, God accepts us just as we are, but he doesn’t leave us that way. God is dreaming about more for us than we would dare dream for ourselves.

Just as our bodies need food, water, and air, God provides all our souls need to grow. In this series, we’ll look at seven ways we can position ourselves to receive His growing grace. Whether you are prioritizing your spiritual life this New Year or bringing someone along who is open to new experiences, this series will provide very practical ways to feed and water our souls. Come discover how you can grow.
