Apr 6, 2013 | Everyday Groups, Prayer
There’s a new Everyday Group brewing. We’re calling it the Creativity Group, because we want to champion creativity in our neighborhood for God’s glory. We are all created in the image of God, the ultimate Creator. Therefore we all have creative potential within us. Humanity has always been in the business of creating– culture, art, music, family, poetry, organization, dance, you name it. This group will be a community that champions creativity to the glory of God, whether in our neighborhoods, our schools, our church, or our city.
Please pray for:
1) Me as I launch this new group.
2) Our leadership team: Jordan, Liz, BJ, Andrea, Casey, & Kelsey.
3) New people to get involved. (Is it you? A friend? A family member?)

Every day in the Temple and in people’s homes they continued teaching the people and telling the Good News—that Jesus is the Christ. (Acts 5:42, NCV)
We have really good news to share. Jesus is the One! He has made a path for us to a new, full life– the life of the dreams we never dared to dream. Jesus is the God who seems too good to be true, but is true. On Easter, we have an incredible opportunity to share Jesus with others who long for good news.
Many of our neighbors, family, friends, co-workers, and classmates will be looking for a service to attend on Easter Sunday. So please pray:
1. God would draw people to himself through Everyday Church. And while you’re at it, spread the word! Post info about our service on facebook, or tweet it.
2. For specific people you know. And while you’re at it, be bold and invite people. Talk to your family and encourage them to visit your faith-family. Send some text messages, emails, make some calls– whatever– just don’t keep the good news to yourself.
3. That our service is powerful, effective, encouraging, and honors God.

Mar 13, 2013 | Everyday Youth, In the News, Prayer
The Everyday Youth Group is alive and well, and even making headlines!
A few weeks ago at the height of the silly viral Youtube phenomenon called “The Harlem Shake,” we recorded our own version. A local online news publication called DNAinfo.com included our video in a story here. Then that same story was picked up by AM New York, a commuter paper that goes out to about 350K subway riders. You can watch the video here: Everyday Youth Group Harlem Shake.
We’re not sure how God might use this, but there are so many kids in NYC who do not know Christ. Please pray that God would provide opportunities to get more and more kids involved with this youth group whether it is through the funny video we made, or any other way. Thank you for your prayers.

Would you please pray that people would pray? I know that sounds weird, but I mean it. There’s a new Prayer Team forming with Everyday Church under the leadership of a young woman named Eyslyn. She’s gathering people together to pray over our Teaching Services, our Everyday Groups, and the prayer requests we receive on our Connect Cards. The Prayer Team sends out encouraging notes to people they are praying for.
I think this is one of the best developments in our new church, and that God will surprise us with how he responds to our prayers. Imagine how people’s faith will grow when they see him graciously responding to our prayers.
Please ask God to give Eyslyn wisdom, passion, and perseverance for this ministry. Pray he would protect her. Pray he would raise others up to help her lead. Pray he would call many others to join with them.
And seriously, hold onto your socks, because when people get serious about praying, you never know what God might do. On that note, while you’re praying for this new Prayer Team, go ahead and pray for yourself: is this a ministry you should be a part of? If so, Contact Us for more information.
I’m praying for all of you!
Mar 2, 2013 | Everyday Groups, Prayer
Just over two years ago Everyday Church started as a small group of people meeting in an apartment. Since then, we’ve grown into three Everyday Groups, with a fourth launching soon, regular teaching services, and so much more. And we really are just getting started!
One of those groups is the Everyday Family Group. I’m proud to be a part of it and I can’t imagine trying to live life as a family here in NYC without it. Wendy and I can’t raise our girls on our own. We need a community of people dedicated to caring for, protecting, nurturing, spiritually mentoring, teaching, them encouraging them. Try doing all that on your own and you’ll realize how daunting the task is.
Please pray for the Everyday Family Group. Pray for the families in this neighborhood who don’t have the support and friendship they need. Pray that we will continue to be a group dedicated to caring for moms and dads and kids. Pray our group will continue to be a mix of young and old, boys and girls, men and women, moms and dads, couples and singles. Pray this group will be a place for kids to experience incredible love and acceptance, that they will never again doubt their worth.

At Everyday Church, we’re all about leading people into life-changing relationships. One big way that we do this is through our Everyday Groups. We want these groups to be a place where we not only learn about God and serve together, but grow in relationships with one another. Most of all, we hope that God will work through these relationships to make us better followers of Jesus.
Spend a moment and pray for people from your Everyday Group by name. Are there a few that you haven’t seen in a while? Are there specific needs you can bring to God? How could you pray for your group leader?
Done praying? Thanks so much!
