Jan 7, 2014 | Global Impact, Prayer

In 2013, Everyday Church launched it’s very own Global Outreach Team. It has functioned quietly the past year as the small team has prepared to guide and direct Everyday Church’s national and international missions efforts. Not a small responsibility!
Well, it’s 2014 and the team is ready to take the next step. A group of six Everyday Church folks head to the Dominican Republic on January 8th to explore partnership opportunities with several organizations. The team will be visiting several ministries that serve and care for children in the DR, as well as an organization that focuses on starting new churches.
The Global Outreach Team and the group headed to the DR need your prayers! Here are some specifics to pray for…
– the wisdom and discernment of the Global Outreach Team
– the group going to the DR: Kala, Kate, Holly, Iris, Chris and Larry
– the leader of the Global Outreach Team: Kala
– the relationships built with the ministries in the DR
– pray the team is led by the Holy Spirit as they consider Everyday Church’s possible involvement with each ministry
– pray for safety and smooth travel
Keep praying!

The Creativity Group has been busy creating an epic Christmas skit for our family service this Sunday, December 22nd! It’s our first service project. It includes live performance, video scenes, props, costumes…and yes, cats dressed as sheep. You can tell from the picture that it’s going to be pretty goofy and fun for both kids and adults. And hopefully we’ll learn something from the Christmas story.
Thank you for praying for the Creativity Group as we launched this year. Prayer is so important to our groups. Remember, they aren’t just Bible studies or just small groups or just groups of friends. Everyday Groups are faith families on mission. Please pray for the Creativity Group, that more people would get involved and that God would lead and bless this group.
Love you all!

You might be surprised by how many people who don’t attend church regularly are interested in visiting a church service during the Christmas season. That’s one of the reasons why we have scheduled some great events during the next two Sundays at Everyday Church.
Please pray about who to invite to our next two services. Pray that God would give you boldness to speak to them today. Then pray against Satan’s attempts to keep them away from our church family. We want more people to learn about the true gift of Christmas, but we all need to pray to make that happen.
Thanks,
Wendy

Please do this:

Pray for one person right now. Who pops into your mind? Someone from church? Someone who doesn’t yet believe?
Please stop what you’re doing, settle yourself for a couple minutes, and really pray for this person. Don’t delay! Just close your eyes and pray.

As the classic Christmas song goes, “It’s the holiday season…whoop-de-do!”American media works hard to focus on the
positives of the holiday season: gift-giving and gift-receiving, time with family, days off, snow… But for all the positives, the holiday season stirs up painful feelings for many: loneliness, missed loved ones, financial difficulties, family conflicts, and all that pressure to appear happy and generous.
I’d like to encourage two things:
1. Pray for one another. The list above provides some ideas. Also, pray for all the traveling that will be happening over the holidays for so many folks.
2. Share the burden. If the holidays bring sadness for you, spend some time with some good friends and share it with them. If the holidays are pure joy for you, share it; be generous with your time, your home, and your joy.”Encourage one another and build each other up…” (I Thessalonians 5:11).I love you all and pray you experience the love, acceptance and joy of Jesus through his body, his people, and Everyday Church.

This Sunday was such a joyful experience at Everyday Church. Five dearly loved members of our church family took a new step in their relationship with Jesus by choosing to be baptized. Let’s praise God for their decision to make Jesus their Lord and Savior.
Please pray against Satan’s attacks in their lives during the next several weeks. Pray for Viana, Alexcito, Joel, Courtney, and Angelica.
Also, pray for those who are thinking about making this decision. Years ago when I was trying to decide whether or not to be baptized, I asked my pastor how to know when I was ready to make the decision. He suggested that I would feel a recurring pull inside of me that would not be satisfied until I chose to make Jesus the Lord of my life. That is exactly what I felt before being baptized. Over the years, I’ve heard many others describe these same feelings. So let’s pray that many more people would feel this pull and many more baptisms would be in our future at Everyday Church.
Love you all,
Wendy
