This weekend we’re offering our second “Use Your Brain Saturday“ (8/13) to help neighborhood students stay sharp on academics while school’s out. Students and volunteers can expect a lot of fun too, with educational games and a healthy dose of special interest activities like Sports, Origami, and Video Production. The program runs from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., with lunch provided. And it’s all free! When young people succeed, it’s good for everyone, and we want to do whatever we can to help.

We’re better together. Usually our Teaching gatherings offer separate, age-relevant experiences for adults and children. It is so important to get the generations together though, and we occasionally plan a family service. On August 7, we’ll bring our next passage from the Book of Acts to life with some interactive storytelling. We’ll learn a couple of the kids’ songs and wrap up a little early to share a light brunch.
The teaching will be kid-friendly, but none-the-less important for adults. This passage shows how God is able to use difficult and even painful moments in our lives to bless others. Seeing the world “Through God’s Eyes” can mean the difference between bitterness and peace.
August 7, 11:00am, at 4862 Broadway * (map).
* This activity is not sponsored or endorsed by the New York City Department of Education or the City of New York.

We just added a new tab to the menu called, “Gatherings.” Check it out to see the current schedule for our Home Group and Teaching gatherings. Granted, we’re already halfway through our discussion & teaching series, “While Jesus Was Away,” and are only just now posting it. But cut us some slack– we’re a brand new church! We’re excited just to have a plan. And there’s no reason not to join in midway, as our gatherings are always visitor-friendly.
We promise to get the Fall schedule up, well… sometime before Fall.

Emma, Lillie, and Clara are back! This is a video we made to help some kids in the suburbs understand a little of what life is like in NYC. Even for those of us who’ve lived in the city most of our lives, it’s fun to see things from their perspective. Enjoy!

Emma, Lillie, and Clara of Everyday Church explain what it’s like to live in NYC, why a new church is so important, and what they think Everyday Church will be like in the future. There’s also a little silliness thrown in.

Everyday volunteers served so that Everyday Kidz could, well, serve. And return. Forehand and backhand.
Our exceptional Everyday church volunteers and partners from Southeast Christian Church provided a free Tennis Clinic for neighborhood kids last Friday. After a few hours of fun exercises and encouragement, instructors transformed 32 kids from I’ll-give-Tennis-a-shot into confident players. Kids who had never held a racquet before were returning volleys!
This was our first free Tennis Clinic for our neighbors in Inwood, but it won’t be our last.
