Superhero Academy

Everyday Kidz will be “Superhero Academy” for the next several Teaching gatherings (schedule: Gatherings). We will be learning how God has given us all special talents and abilities that we can use to be heroes and save the day! Invite the little ones in your life to join us this Sunday at 4862 Broadway * (map) at 11:00a.m. for a fun, encouraging church experience.

* This activity is not sponsored or endorsed by the New York City Department of Education or the City of New York.

Feliz Navidad!

It is more blessed to give than to receive,” said the Lord (Acts 20:35, NLT). Local students who received Christmas gifts from Everyday Church made this “thank you” video, and it’s proof of Jesus’ words. It’s hard to watch this and not feel pretty good about giving!

New Year, New Gear

Everyday Church is switching to a higher gear for 2012. This Sunday (1/1, New Year’s Day) we’ll have our final Home Group gatherings under the current schedule (to participate, Contact Us). On January 8th, we’ll begin gathering for Teaching every other week. Then, on January 15th, we’re starting our 3rd Home Group! These new gatherings provide great opportunities to get involved or bring others along. God is on the move!

For the latest schedule, check out our Gatherings page.

Happy New Year from Everyday Church!

New Series: Praying for a Change

Sometimes people say, “Prayer is just talking to God.” In a sense, that’s true. There’s no magic formula or special wording. But if what you really mean is, “I don’t need to learn anything about prayer,” then that’s a different story. What would you think of a guy who said, “I have nothing to learn about how to communicate with my wife?” And this is God we’re “just” talking to!

When Jesus’ disciples asked him how to pray, he didn’t say, “Prayer is just talking to God.” He actually taught them how to pray. “This, then, is how you should pray…” (Matthew 6:9). He taught surprising stories about what it takes to move God’s heart. For Jesus, prayer was more than just shooting the breeze with God. Prayer changes us, and God actually responds to our prayers.

Prayer can be a frustrating experience. Is God listening? Will he do something? Why doesn’t he respond? Whether you’re interested in starting a conversation with God for the first time or in taking your next step, it’s time to start praying for a change.

Love Is Something You Do

This Fall, Everyday Church is starting an action-oriented series, full of opportunities to learn by doing. Love is much more than an idea or a feeling. “For the Kingdom of God is not just a lot of talk; it is living by God’s power” (1 Corinthians 4:20, NLT). In short, love is something you do.

Specifics to come, but in the meantime view the schedule at our Gatherings page.
