Reasonable Faith Meeting This Sunday: Is Jesus Unique?

Reasonable FaithIs Jesus unique?

What about his birth story, teachings, disciples, death and resurrection? Wasn’t he just another in a long line of Greek and Roman gods who share similarities with their stories? The Zeitgeist video has a section devoted to recounting the similarities of gods and goddesses and the Jesus myth. Is Jesus a Jewish Isis, Horus or Mithras?

Ray Ciervo will speak to the uniqueness of Jesus Christ and his place in these so-called “dying and rising” gods of ancient Greece and Rome.

Bring open minds, friends, and questions (not necessarily in that order)!

When: 2p-4:00p, Sunday June 22

Where: The Church Office (5030 Broadway Unit 630, New York, NY 10034)

Pray For Us: An Update From Larry

The Everyday Church Princess Retreat is only a few days away. A group of pre-teen girls, mom’s and other ladies are heading out of the city this weekend to discover their identity as princesses of the King, Jesus Christ, and the adventure He has in store for their lives. They’ll be enjoying fun activities and reflecting on the strength God has given them as His daughters.

The prayer is simple: God, use this weekend to give these young girls a firm understanding of your love for them, their identity in you and the great honor it is to be your daughter. Please establish a foundation in their hearts that is rooted in your love and grace. And prepare them for the amazing lives you have in store for them. Amen!

Pray For Us: An Update From Matt

Summer Nights 2014We are really excited about what God has in store for the Everyday Youth Group this summer. We are focussing on reaching out and connecting with other middle- and high-school aged kids in our community. Please pray for our “summer nights”– BBQ’s we will be having in the park this summer.

Pray the word gets out and enthusiasm spreads to other kids outside our church to come hang out.

Pray our kids do a great job providing hospitality and including them in the group.
