Pray For Us: An Update From Wendy

WorshipThis week’s prayer update is a bit different. Usually we let you know some prayer concerns and requests we want you to share with the Lord. I am so thankful that we never have to worry about asking God for too much, he always wants to hear about what concerns us.

But this week, I’d like us all to take the time to praise God for what he did for Everyday Church over the last year.
Thank him:
* that we were able to meet our financial goals for 2013.
* for the 12 people in our church that were baptized in the last year.
* for the Creativity Group began last year and is continuing to grow and serve together.
* for the new people that continue to want to be a part of our church family.
God has really provided for this church and he deserves all of our praise!
Love you all,
Wendy

Pray for Us: An Update From Larry

Mingling after serviceIn 2013, Everyday Church launched it’s very own Global Outreach Team. It has functioned quietly the past year as the small team has prepared to guide and direct Everyday Church’s national and international missions efforts. Not a small responsibility!

Well, it’s 2014 and the team is ready to take the next step. A group of six Everyday Church folks head to the Dominican Republic on January 8th to explore partnership opportunities with several organizations. The team will be visiting several ministries that serve and care for children in the DR, as well as an organization that focuses on starting new churches.

The Global Outreach Team and the group headed to the DR need your prayers! Here are some specifics to pray for…
– the wisdom and discernment of the Global Outreach Team
– the group going to the DR: Kala, Kate, Holly, Iris, Chris and Larry
– the leader of the Global Outreach Team: Kala
– the relationships built with the ministries in the DR
– pray the team is led by the Holy Spirit as they consider Everyday Church’s possible involvement with each ministry
– pray for safety and smooth travel

Keep praying!

Larry

New Teaching Series: Press Play

What will make this year any different from the last?

Out with the old, in with the new” sure sounds good, but how often does it actually happen? Once the New Year’s resolutions to exercise more and spend less fade from memory, what will make this year any different from the last?

Jesus came promising life. “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10). This full life is available to anyone who wants it, but it doesn’t just happen. Before we can Press Play on the abundant life, we must Pause, Rewind, and Fastforward. Socrates said, “The unexamined life is not worth living.” Don’t let another year of your life slip by unexamined. Learn from Jesus how to really live

NOTE: No Service This Sunday

No Teaching ServiceNOTE: Dec 29th Teaching Service is cancelled.

Why are we canceling church?!

Well, that’s a strange question, because it isn’t possible to “cancel church.” Remember, church is not a building or an event. Church is a people! That’s why this is an Everyday Church, not a Sunday Church. We’re more interested in being the church, every day, than we are in going to church. We think God is too.

So we haven’t cancelled church, nor could we if we wanted to. We’ve just cancelled one of the many things the church does. And hey, it’s only one Sunday! I know, I know… we miss you too! Absence really does make the heart grow fonder. No worries, though. We’ll resume our Weekly Teaching Services with a brand new series of messages next week. Stay tuned!
