Everyday Youth Group ice skating last week during winter break
The High Schoolers in Everyday Youth Group are excited for this year’s summer conference called MOVE. The conference, in Maryland, is designed to help our youth figure out their place in this world and how God can and will use them to change it. There will be worship, preaching, small group study and community building, all with hundreds of other kids their age. Please pray that this trip would come together well logistically, and also that it would have a long lasting impact on the youth of Everyday Church.
Pray:
Every student connected to our community is able to attend.
This conference helps them grow in their relationship with Christ.
For the leadership of the conference, that they would be led by the Spirit in their preparation and planning.
Our focus this year is on Leadership Development. Please stop what your doing, even if only for a couple of minutes, and Pray:
* For yourself; that God will disciple you and grow you.
* For our staff, as we put the finishing touches on our Leadership Development plan, and begin to invite people into the process.
* God would give people the spiritual gift of leadership.
* God would use THE STORY to help each of us find our story in His story.
* God would raise up new leaders at every level of leadership in our church.
* God would sustain, protect, and bless our leaders.
Our church runs on God’s response to prayer. Please do your part and fuel the fire!
Everyday Church’s Phillip Murray is leading a local chapter of Reasonable Faith at our office.
What: According to Phillip: “Have you ever wondered what we could know about Jesus and his movement from the first century after his resurrection if we didn’t rely solely on the New Testament? You might be surprised to learn that a number of references exist from other sources.
“Paul Rezkalla will present to us ‘Christian Origins Outside the New Testament.’ Many people mistakenly believe that everything we know about Jesus comes from only the New Testament or those who were his faithful followers. Not so. We not only have reliable New Testament material, but also history from neutral or disinterested sources as well as from friendly and even hostile sources. A little bit about Paul will appear below my signature in this email.
“Come ready to learn and then to be able to share with others what you discover.”
According to Reasonable Faith’s website: “Reasonable Faith aims to provide in the public arena an intelligent, articulate, and uncompromising yet gracious Christian perspective on the most important issues concerning the truth of the Christian faith today.”
When: Mar 9, 2p-4p
Where: The Church Office (5030 Broadway Unit 630, New York, NY 10034)

Have you been reading The Story with us? Have you been able to find your place in God’s story? So far we’ve looked at several people: Adam, Eve, Noah, Abraham, Sarah and Joseph. Each character was a flawed, everyday person. But it was because they had a relationship with God that placed them as characters in God’s Story.
Everyday Church is just a young community of everyday Christians in a big city. And we may be tempted to believe that in the grand scheme of things, we don’t matter that much to what God is doing in the world. But that’s not true, because we’re not just living our own stories – we’re a part of God’s Story.
“We’re Christ’s representatives. God uses us to persuade men and women to drop their difference and enter into God’s work of making things right between them. We’re speaking for Christ himself now: Become friends with God; he’s already a friend with you. How? you ask. In Christ, God put the wrong on him who never did anything wrong, so we could be put right with God” (2 Corinthians 5:18-21 MSG).
Take a moment and pray that God would use us (including you!) to bring more people into His Story.
