Junk food is fun, but you’re not gonna win any marathons on it. Some foods are okay in moderation, but dangerous, because they are addictive. Some “foods” are poisonous and will harm you. Some foods are wonderful: nutritious and delicious and beautiful.
We all understand that our body needs good food to survive, but we can be much less discerning when it comes to feeding our souls. In order to enjoy the vibrant, abundant spiritual life Jesus provides, we must pay attention to Soul Food. If anything is excellent or praiseworthy, it says in Philippians 4:8, think about such things. This series of messages will help us make choices to fuel our souls, instead of settling for substitutes.

This Easter Sunday, 6 people decided to go “all in” with Jesus through baptism! Romans 6:4 says: “For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives” (NLT). Baptism is an amazing picture of dying to our new lives so that we may live a new life for Jesus. Would you join me in praying for those who were baptized?
Lord Jesus, there is no God like you. In love, you paid the penalty for our sins. Your resurrection not only proves your power over death, but gives us new life! Let those who were baptized experience the fullness of the resurrected life. Strengthen them by your Holy Spirit to resist the evil one. Use them to bring your kingdom to earth. Amen!
