Pray For Us: An Update From Wendy

Please pray for our next sermon series, “Save the Date”. Not all days are the same. Some days are life changing. Weddings, birthdays, and graduations mark endings and beginnings of important seasons of our lives. God wants to put a date like that on each of our calendars, a date that will mark, for all eternity, our rebirth into his forever family. It’s called baptism.

Pray for the people in our church who are considering this big decision. Pray that we will continue to make disciples at Everyday Church.

Pray For US: An Update From Wendy

Everyday KidzEveryday Church exists to make disciples of Jesus. That’s also the mission of our Everyday Kidz ministry. During this teaching series the elementary students are memorizing Hebrews 13:5-6, “God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’ So we say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.‘”

Let’s pray together, “Lord, give us confidence in your love and protection. Help us to not be afraid but instead to trust in you. We pray this for ourselves and for our children.” Amen.

Pray For Us: An Update From Nathan

NewFacesI’ve been excited to see so many new faces at Everyday in 2015, whether hanging out with church friends, in my Everyday Group or at Teaching Services on Sunday. God is drawing people to himself through Everyday. And I think it’s no accident that our whole church is currently engaging with Why We Exist: to make disciples of Jesus. Please pray for us:

Jesus, all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to you. We submit ourselves as your disciples. Make us more like you. Not by our strength, but the power that raised Christ from the dead! Amen.

RockClimbingThe Everyday Adventure Group is up and running! This group is all about helping people connect with God and one another through nature. We meet regularly, eat together, organize activities, learn skills, go on adventures and spend time contemplating the Creator and His great love for us. We have our first event coming up on January 24th… a rock climbing party open to Everyday Church, family and friends of all ages.

Please pray the Everyday Adventure Group is able to fulfill its mission, helping the people of NYC connect with God and one another through the beauty and extravagance of nature. And that we enjoy some great adventures along the way!

An Important Prayer Update from Matt

IMG_107633485587484ECC Family and Prayer Supporters,

Over the last year we have spent a lot of time reflecting on our lives and praying about our future. We are convinced that the Lord has called us to remain in NYC for the long haul. In an effort to deepen our ties and connection to the community, we have made a decision to spend the next year fully committed to learning Spanish.

God has provided an amazing opportunity for us to live and work fully immersed in the Spanish language in Honduras. We are planning to spend most of 2015 there, attending language school, and serving as interns at another school for children in a rural village.

We will remain connected to ECC and fully intend on returning at the end of next year to continue serving alongside the staff and church family.

Please pray for:

* Our transition away from the Youth Group and the leaders who are stepping up while we’re away

* Our safety throughout our time in Honduras

* Funding and logistics regarding the trip and our apartment here

Thank you all for your continuous love and support,

Matt and Kala
