Prayerful Protest for Racial Justice June 30, 6 p.m.

What: We hope you can join us and other churches, organizations and individuals in our community, who are coming together to lead a prayerful, protest of racism, violence against Black bodies, and the numerous systems of oppression that plague our society. There will also be a Zoom prayer and live stream of the protest available for any who can join remotely (check back for more details).

Why:  Overturning the numerous systems of racial injustice and oppression that plague our society, and fighting for more just, inclusive systems that elevate and protect the marginalized – is something that we care deeply about, and that we feel uniquely called by God to do as the church.

When: June 30, 6 p.m.

Marcha de Oración por la Justicia Racial 30 de junio, a las 6pm

Qué: Esperamos que puedan unirse a nosotros y a otras Iglesias, organizaciones e individuos de nuestra comunidad que se están uniendo para liderar una marcha devota contra el racismo y violencia afectando a las vidas negras y contra los numerosos sistemas de opresión que afectan a nuestra sociedad. También se podrá asistir de manera virtual a través de la aplicación de Zoom y formar parte tanto en la oración como en una transmisión en vivo de la protesta para cualquiera que desee participar (Consulte con los organizadores para obtener más detalles).

Por qué: Para revertir los numerosos sistemas de injusticia racial y opresión que plagan a nuestra sociedad, y luchar por sistemas más justos e inclusivos que eleven y protejan a los marginados, es algo que nos preocupa profundamente y que Dios nos llama de manera única para que actuemos como iglesia.

A Time to Grieve

Ecclesiastes 3… “For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven…A time to cry & a time to laugh. A time to grieve & a time to dance.” During this global pandemic & wide-spread quarantine, the way we grieve has changed. We can’t gather together, share a meal, give & receive comforting hugs. Yet we must grieve. Together, we will share our grief & remember the hope we find in a God who both weeps with us & gives us a future beyond the pain of death.

Eclesiastés 3… “Para todo hay una estación, un tiempo para cada actividad debajo del cielo…Un tiempo para llorar y un tiempo para reír. Un tiempo para llorar y un tiempo para bailar.” Durante esta pandemia global y cuarentena generalizada, la forma en que nos afligimos ha cambiado. No podemos reunirnos, compartir una comida, dar y recibir abrazos reconfortantes. Sin embargo, debemos llorar. Juntos, compartiremos nuestro dolor y recordaremos la esperanza que encontramos en un Dios que llora con nosotros y nos da un futuro más allá del dolor de la muerte.
